30 Minute Bolognese Sauce

This summer has felt so much crazier than others, but we are having so much fun spending time with friends and family. We have been trying to make the most of our time at home relaxing, so quick dinners have for sure been our thing lately. This recipe came to life right before we were about to travel and we needed to get rid of some veggies left in the fridge. It is so full of flavor you won't even realize it is packed with veggies.

Ingredients:

1 can diced tomatoes

1/2 pound ground turkey

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 cup shredded carrots

1 onion diced

2 cloves of garlic

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp cayenne pepper

1 bay leaf

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 tbsp avocado oil for cooking

 

Directions:

1. Mince your garlic and dice your onion. Add to a large cast iron skillet with your avocado oil and cook until fragrant.

2. Add in your ground turkey and cook until brown. 

3. Add in the rest of your ingredients to the skillet and bring to a boil. 

4. Turn on medium and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until sauce thickens up.

5. Remove the bay leaf and serve over your favorite pasta or veggie noodle.
