Ketchup was on our grocery list this week, but I ended up only going to Trader Joe's and could not get my favorite whole 30 friendly ketchup from Tessamae's. Since I was in a pinch I got all the ingredients I thought would go into ketchup (minus the added sugar). To my surprise, my homemade ketchup came out amazing (boyfriend tested and approved!) and the even better part is that it is whole 30 approved. I cannot believe I haven't thought to make ketchup myself sooner!
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 20 minutes
- 2 cans diced tomatoes
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/2 large white onion
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 orange, juiced
- In a blender, add in all of your ingredients. It is okay to not chop the garlic and onion because it will all be blended together.
- In a medium saucepan, simmer your ketchup on medium heat for 20 minutes until thick and it begins to turn a deeper red color.
- Store in an airtight glass container and serve with all of your favorites!
