Strawberry Basil Lemonade
I know I have mentioned grilling season a few times in the paste few weeks, and I wanted to share the perfect beverage to enjoy at a cook out or even while laying by the pool. We started growing our own basil, so I am having a blast being creative and finding new ways to enjoy my little herb garden. This lemonade has zero added sugars and if you aren’t doing Whole30 you could even do a splash of vodka in there for a refreshing summer cocktail!
1 cup strawberries
1/2 cup basil
- Wash your strawberries and basil. Cut off the tops of the strawberries.
- In a large pitcher, add in your strawberries and basil and muddle together until all of the strawberries are smashed.
- Add in the juice of all four lemons and stir.
- Fill the pitcher up the rest of the way with filtered water or sparkling water.
- Stir and serve over ice.
*If you are not doing Whole30 you can also add in some maple syrup if you do want some extra sweetness. I have found that fruits taste so much sweeter to me now that I haven’t been having added sugar so that is why we did not add in!
