Hi y'all! Back again with another Sunday stories for you! This week was such a blur...between my birthday celebrations and a 4 day work week I feel like it was over before it even started! My birthday was this past Monday so P took me out to one of my favorite wine bars in Charlotte for some small plates and a tasty glass of wine. Foxcroft has the most cozy atmosphere and I love how relaxed I feel the moment I walk in. Since it was a special occasion we splurged and ordered the donuts. YUM!
The rest of the work week was uneventful (except for these beautiful flowers I got:)) until we headed back to Charleston to celebrate a great friend's wedding!
I think if you get married in Charleston its bound to be beautiful, but this wedding was one of the most stunning weddings I have ever been to. The background rows and rows of live oaks and the decor was elegant with a little rustic touch. She did an absolute amazing job planning out her special day. I really loved how she chose to do food stations because we were able to socialize and interact with so many of her guests rather then sitting down for a formal dinner and only speaking with your table. Both P and I were so honored to be apart of our friend's special day and I loved seeing my college roommate marry the love of her life. I don't think either the bride or the groom stopped smiling for even a second. Congrats you too!!!
The rest of the weekend was spent with my family enjoying the company and weather. We were fortunate enjoy to be able to go sailing on Saturday with some really great friends and also made some time to take the puppy to play and burn off some energy. Its so refreshing to be back by the ocean and have so much space to play with the dog. I know he loves it just as much as we do :) After our fun day on the boat we headed over to Pier 41 for a lovely birthday dinner before calling it an early night. I forget how tired I get after a full night of dancing:) If you are over in the Mount Pleasant area I highly recommend stopping over and checking out Pier 41. The decor is so cute and there is a mix of seafood tapas with an asian flare. We got a much of small plates to share and no one left disappointed. A BIG perk is they make their own ginger beer so their mules are AMAZING.
We ended up driving home after a late breakfast Sunday and went right into errand mode. I love traveling on the weekends, but it can be so draining to come back Sunday and squeeze in everything you needed to accomplish before Monday in a few hours. We looked to Lexi's Clean Kitchen for some dinner inspo and once again decided we just had to make an eggplant pizza. This time we made two and decided we are going to freeze one for a quick dinner next week. I cannot believe I hadn't thought about freezing the crust before!
That is all for this week! We have a TON more traveling to come in the next few weeks so stay tuned for some of our favorite car snacks and highlights from our trips. In case you missed it, head over to the lasted recipe for a delicious on the go breakfast. I know these Lemon Blueberry Muffins will be coming in the car with us this week as we head over to Alabama!
As always, I want to hear from all of YOU :) Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or if you want to see something specific here on the blog. I love all of your input!! Make sure to check back this week for some great spring recipes + easy Easter dishes!
