Thin Mint Smoothie

I came home from work today with a killer sore throat and the need for a little pick me up. Chocolate and mint are some of my favorite flavors and I wanted to come up with something that would not only feel better on my throat, but would also give me some great nutrients as I let my body heal. Between allergy season and not taking a second to breathe, my body has finally had enough and is telling me to rest. This smoothie seriously made my day and I know y'all will love it! I am having it as a treat tonight, but if you add in some protein powder this can make a great post workout drink! **More to come on my favorite protein powders :)

Ingredients:

2 tbsp cacao powder 

1 tbsp local honey (helps with seasonal allergies) or maple syrup

5 mint leaves 

3 drops peppermint extract 

*Optional: vital collagen proteins or a scoop of protein powder

Directions:

1. Place all ingredients in blender with 1 cup of ice. 

2. Blend on high until ice is crushed.

3. Add water to thin out to your liking and enjoy!
