Sunday Stories - 3/26/17
Hi y'all! I hope everyone has had a great week! Our week was a bit hectic, but we were able to squeeze in so much fun so it was worth it! P had a trip away with the boys so I was on my own this weekend to take care of the pup and entertain some of my favorite visitors. My brother's family ended up stopping on their way down to the beach and I love every chance I get to spend some time with his kiddos:) Just like the rest of the east coast it seems, our weather was basically a different season every day last week, but luckily we ended on a great note with sunny skies and high temps for the weekend. It was so nice to be able to get outside and take my niece and nephew to the park to play.
I was also very busy recipe testing for y'all this week and I am SO excited to bring some really exciting dishes to the blog in the next few week so stay tuned! While I love racking my brain to come up with some really tasty dishes for y'all I also love to look for dinner inspo from a few of my favorite bloggers. These blogs below have truly been the reason I have developed such a passion for cooking and developing my own healthy lifestyle. If you have not already, you should definitely check out these ladies below!
Now lets take a peak into how I ate this week. We stuck to our usual eggs and smoothies for breakfast this week and made sure to pack in the collagen proteins each morning. Have y'all tried these yet? If not you should definitely look into it because I swear by it for my skin, hair and nails (plus so many more benefits!). We have kind of been in a breakfast funk lately so this week at the store I came up with an exciting twist on avo toast for this upcoming week. Make sure to check back this week to see this REALLY cool breakfast idea.
I have been obsessed with replacing bread with butter lettuce for my turkey sandwiches lately, so that is what I packed for my lunches. It is so much easier than I thought and really was just as filling as having bread.
P and I have both gotten to the age where all of our friends are starting to get married. This summer is going to be so much fun celebrating all of our favorite people, but it will also be very busy! We were talking a few weeks back and have decided Tuesday's is going to be strictly a night for us. We love to play tennis and try out some new restaurants so we decided to make it a tradition. We started this week by heading over to the tennis courts in our area for an hour, and let me tell you we were ruuuuuuuuusty. It's okay though by the end of the summer we will be experts! Our intention was to grab some tacos afterwards (because taco Tuesday duh!), but everyone and their mother had the same idea so we ventured over to a new restaurant we have been meaning to go to. Fidelli Kitchen serves fast Italian favorites with an AMAZING wine selection. I will definitely be suggesting this for a book club meeting just for the wine :)
As I mentioned before, P was out of town this weekend with a lot of my friends significant others. The ladies took advantage of the time alone and decided to go see Beauty and The Beast after trying a new sushi restaurant, Yamazaru. I am happy to say both lived up to the hype! Yamazaru had so many options and their sake selection is amazing. I am confident this will be my new go to sushi spot in Charlotte. As for the movie, it was very well done. Between the music and nostalgia, it worth seeing at least once!
That is all for this week! Check back next week to see our upcoming adventure in Charleston for my birthday weekend! I will be doing a recap of all of my favorite restaurants in the city as well as some new ones we are planning to try!
As always, I WANT to hear from y'all. If you have any questions or comments please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do remake any of the recipes I would love to see! Make sure to use the hashtag #forthekaleofit so I can keep up with you :)
