Sunday Stories - 3/19/17
Hi! I am going to be starting a new post each week called "Sunday Stories". I want to give you all a glimpse into my week whether it be new recipes, workouts, projects or restaurants. I have always appreciated how my favorite bloggers share their own personal habits as well as their recipes. I think it will be extremely helpful as well to show you some things I like to order at restaurants and this will keep me in line to make sure I don't splurge on less healthy items :) Here goes nothing!
This week was super busy. I have been obsessed with a local yoga studio called AIR. It is aerial yoga and takes yoga to a whole new level. I HIGHLY recommend trying out if you have a studio in your area. I have also been mixing in running since we are training for the Cooper River Bridge run. All of this training has really taken a toll on me causing energy levels to be lower than normal so I am very careful to make sure I refuel properly.
I posted a few of of the dinner recipes we made this week, but also made some great breakfasts that did not make it to the blog this week. One of our go to breakfasts is a spinach, tomato and feta. Along with a small mixed berry and vital proteins smoothie to round out the morning.
Another meal I have been dying to share with you all is this eggplant pizza from Lexi's Clean Kitchen. We have been making this pizza crust every Sunday and are loving trying tons of different toppings. So far we have tried buffalo chicken, turkey meatball, cheeseburger and cheese pizza. All have been incredible and I am loving having a paleo pizza crust option we both enjoy eating :)
Today was a HUGE day for some DIY projects in our house. We have been waiting patiently for the weather to warm up so we can set up our at home herb garden. I am obsessed with using fresh herbs in the kitchen and the most economical way to do this is to grow them yourself! We set up a flower box off our balcony with mint, basil, rosemary and parsley to get started and I love how it came out.
My other major project I have been wanting to do is to make a mirror with oyster shells. I have been waiting for my mom to come to town from Charleston with all of the oyster shells she was able to get for me so I could put this mirror together. I love the idea of having a little piece of Charleston in our home since it is so near and dear to my heart. The mirror made the perfect wall decorate and really only took a couple hours + a TON of hot glue.
Stay tuned next week for a good round up of some of the blogs who give me so much inspiration and some of our favorite Charlotte restaurants :)
